𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲? 𝗜 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽.
This morning, I took my car in for an oil change at Morrison’s Auto-Rite (Co-Owner is Robert Morrison), a local mechanic shop recommended by a friend. As a fairly new customer, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I knew my standards were high—maybe even impossible to match.
For years, I had a mechanic I trusted completely—someone who not only kept my car running but also helped me plan financially for maintenance, made me laugh, and genuinely cared about his customers. When he retired, I knew finding service like that again wouldn’t be easy.
So, as I sat at Morrison’s, I paid close attention—not just to whether they did what they said they would do, but to their 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵. And here’s what I noticed:
✔ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 & 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: They had my car ready to go first, as requested, so I wouldn’t be delayed.
✔ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 & 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲: They called before making extra repairs, giving me the option to say "Yes" or "Let's postpone."
✔ 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: They settled a small (and hilarious) washer fluid debate between my husband and me—with great humor, I might add.
✔ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲: They greeted customers by name, with genuine warmth.
✔ 𝗨𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: They bent down to greet a customer’s dog with pets and a treat.
✔ 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Instead of news blaring on the TV, a slideshow of customer pets played—each labeled with their name and their human’s name. (see photo above!)
✔ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: They proactively told me what maintenance I should plan for next time so I could budget ahead.
✔ 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Every single person I interacted with seemed delighted to be at work. Their joy created a ripple effect of trust, calm, and confidence.
